Police are appealing for witnesses to a road crash outside Lakeside Shopping Centre in which a man died.
The collision happened when a single-decker Arriva bus and a silver Ford Mondeo struck each other on the perimeter road outside Debenhams shortly after 11pm on Friday, October 9.
The car driver, and sole occupant, was Clive Keeling. The 50-year-old man from Lister Road in Tilbury was conveyed to Basildon University Hospital, but sadly died a short time later.
The bus driver, a 40-year-old man from the Grays area, sustained a serious leg injury and was treated at Basildon University Hospital. He is currently in a stable condition. The passengers all sustained minor injuries, but did not require any medical attention.
A section of the road was closed for approximately eight hours while forensic collision investigators carried out their enquiries and the vehicles recovered.
