The third floor of Lakeside was evacuated this afternoon after a fire in the ducting at Burger King . Crews were initially called to smoke coming out of the roof above Primark.
On arrival they discovered that the fire was in the restaurant’s ducting. They extinguished the fire by 15:52hrs using a foam extinguisher and a CO2 extinguisher. They then used a thermal imaging camera to make sure that the ducting was entirely cool.
The officer in charge reported that the third floor of the shopping centre was slightly smoke logged. Crews left Lakeside at 16:24hrs.
