TUESDAY (20 October) saw a new centre open in South Ockendon aimed at providing specialist day care services for vulnerable older people and adults.
Located at 23 to 25 Derwent Parade, this new centre is designed to meet the many diverse needs of residents from South Ockend/Aveley/Purfleet.
The centre is there to support people who have been assessed by Thurrock’s Social Care team and will offer practical and useful support to the many people who require this service.
It is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. On weekends, the venue will be used for outreach services and act as a local resource for adults who require some support.
Pam Palmer, Thurrock Carers Centre Development manager said:” This centre has been a long time coming and it is the ideal venue to support and nurture the needs of many of our residents”.
