The Harvest Festival was given a unique twist by the pupils and teachers from the Stanford-le-Hope Primary School last week. Rather than following the traditional route of collecting and distributing food within the local community, they thought they would stretch their imagination and generosity a little further.
Thanks to Mandie Groves, Parent Governor of Stanford-le-Hope Primary School, the decision was made to use the Harvest Festival to support the ‘Mary’s Meals Project’ in Malawi.
During the celebrations, Mandie, and Headteacher, Linda Moore, took the time to talk to YourThurrock about their extra special Harvest Festival, and how they hope their backpack donations will improve the lives of children worldwide.
