A MEETING with the Duke of Edinburgh and the writer of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin at Buckingham Palace was the reward for Gold award winners with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme
Stephanie Gadsden, Daniella Nice, Francesca Nice and Kathryn Emerson are all members of the Ockendon and Aveley Kids (OAKs) Duke of Edinburgh scheme based in South Ockendon.
The foursome went to the Yorkshire Dales for their Gold Award assessment.
