A group of incredibly brave scouts ventured into the woods to experience the ultimate survival challenge at the Cherrywood Campsite in Purfleet last weekend. Working in teams, the adventurous scouts had to build shelters out of a basic selection of materials, make a fire from scratch, cook their meals without using utensils and hope that the November weather behaved itself!
Spirits were high in camp and it was clear from the smiles on their faces and the happy conversations that this was an extremely fun activity for everyone involved. A variety of shelters were being constructed and looked surprisingly cozy for what was simply a piece of plastic and a few branches!
Scout Leader, Brian Stock, was very impressed by the scouts positive attitudes towards the challenge ahead of them and has high hopes for future camping adventures!
