CREWS used three main hets, one hose reel and three triple extension ladders to fight a fire in a range of derelict commercial buildings.
Firefighters were originally called to trees alight and one appliance was sent to tackle the incident but on arrival at the scene, the officer in charge requested an additional three pumps after discovering the industrial building, measuring 70m x 20m, was 80 per cent well alight.
The Electricity Board was called to the scene to isolate external wiring affected by fire. The incident was dealt with by 00:01 hrs and crews will revisit the scene to check the site this morning (Tuesday).
A joint Fire Service and Police investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the incident.
