It is true, “when you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise”!
Whilst filming the Ockendon Scouts Survival Challenge at Cherrywood Campsite in Purfleet, YourThurrock couldn’t help but notice an array of goblins, monsters and elves scuttling around the woods behind us.
After being reassured that I wasn’t hallucinating and that other people could see them too, YourThurrock decided to introduce ourselves to these medieval folk – and I am really glad we did!
It turned out that this bunch of fascinating characters are a part of the medieval club, Dragon Lore LARP. It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to celebrating the wonderful world of medieval fantasy through live-action role play!
YourThurrock was lucky enough to catch this charismatic bunch during one of their live and improvised combats, and it was simply amazing and certainly looked a lot of fun!
