A LITTLE bit of New York has come has come to Lakeside as they opened their ice-rink to the public.
Under the shadow of the Lakeside christmas tree near to the entrance for House of Fraser, the rink is for all ages with staff on hand on the ice to help out those taking their first tentative steps to being the next Jayne Torvill.
The rink is a joint venture between Thurrock Council and Lakeside Shopping Centre.
General Manager Paul Lancaster warmly praised the work of his staff as well as the council team led by Thurrock arts officer, Mark Allinson.
YourThurrock’s intrepid reporter Lucy Chipperfield gingerly took to the ice to interview Thurrock councillor Val Morris-Cook.
