FOUR first half goals got The Rooks season back on track as they thumped Heybridge Swifts 4-0 at Rookery Hill.
Goals by Sam Higgins (2), Ebsworth and West secured the three points to keep their promotion bid on course.
After the match, East Thurrock boss John Coventry said: “I am very pleased. It was an open game. Fair play to Heybridge, they came here to play entertaining football and helped produce an entertaining 90 minutes.
Sam Higgins was on fire and helped us bag the three points. The conditions worsened in the final half hour so it wasn’t surprising that there weren’t any more goals. I am very happy.”
The Rooks go on to play Thamesmead away on saturday.
