Detectives in Grays are investigating an incident in which a man appears to have been beaten in the street and then bundled into a Range Rover and driven away.
Police received a number of calls around 8.40pm on Monday, December 14, that a man was being assaulted in Derby Road, Grays. The man was bundled into the white Range Rover and driven away.
Metropolitan Police officers arrested five men later the same night and they are currently in custody at Grays police station. The arrested men are all in their 20s and from London.
An 18-year-old man was traced and he had injuries to his hands and face that required a number of stitches when he was treated at Newham General hospital.
