Year in Review: December

THE Thameside panto was fantastic with Dame Dolly Jollybottom an absolute star!

Thurrock’s Next Top Boss was launched with great flair with a reception at The Globe Theatre. An ambitious project that business in the borough have backed.

Residents were less than impressed by the gritting service and waste collection in the run up to christmas.

The Audit Commission were very complimentary in their annual report but still earmarked Community Cohesion and Educational Attainment as areas of real concern.

Vicky Johnson returned from the Amazon; Bradley Tuttle saved sailors in the estuary.

We saw the work of Hearing Impaired Unit at St Clere’s.

The ice-rink opened at Lakeside as did new businesses such as Dovespa.

We were more than impressed with Operation Utah as the several police forces gathered at Thurrock Moto Services to throw a ring around the borough.

The Nativity at the Orsett Pound was once a delight and the Hassenbrook Papparazzi show was outstanding. Gable Hall could have found a new star with Louisa Johnson
