COMMUNITY Repaint Thurrock has been donated over a 1000 litres of paint from different decorating supply companies.
David Lawrence the repaint manager said: It’s mostly what is called in the trade “miss-tints”, although one company did tint a load of it in cream especially for us.
“We give paint to Community Groups, like local Church Halls, Scout Groups and the probation service doing community projects, last year we help out a local dance school to refurbish their dressing rooms.
“Paint is available to the general public at £1 per litre, which just contributes to our operating costs.
“If you are planning any decorating now we have got rid of this snowy weather we will be the place to get your paint as always when its Gone its Gone so come early to avoid being disappointed.
“We are based in Thurrock but any community group can request paint from us, if you have a project outside of Thurrock you can still use our services.”
In 2007 the Community RePaint national network saved 450,000 litres of paint, donated by householders and businesses, going to waste and redistributed over 250,000 litres of paint to community groups, charities, voluntary organizations and people in social need.
