Tributes to “Gentle Giant” James Carley

TRIBUTES have poured in after the tragic death of Stanford-le-Hope teenager James Carley, who died on friday, when his car struck a van on the A13.

Among the tributes to the former St Clere’s student are:

Daniel: “I only knew Jim for about six months but he had a big influence on me in that short time. Just last week before training he came and give me a big bear hug and told me he was lookin forward to the banter again as it was our first training session back after christmas.

“He was always smiling and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. The team was always laughing and smiling when jim was about he will be missed by all not only as a great player nd a big part of the team but as a lovely young man as well.”

Natalie: “James you were such a wonderful,kind and caring member of our form. You will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know you. My thoughts are with your family at this heartbreaking time. Rest peacefully xx”

Richard: “How come they call it goodbye? How come the good die? See the thing is legends never really die. My thoughts are with your family and friends.”

Georgia: “There are some bad things in life that shouldn’t happen to good people, and one happened to a very special person on the 22.01.10.

“James everyone can’t believe you have gone but I am sure that you are watching us from above looking down and seeing what wonderful things that people are saying about you and how much they love you and miss you and i am certainly one of those people. Jim we miss you a lot.”
