HUNDREDS of mourners packed into St Thomas’s Cathedral in Brentwood to pay their final respects to former St Clere’s student James Carley.
Family, friends, teachers, team-mates and school colleagues packed the Catholic cathedral to mourn but also celebrate the life of the young man called “A Gentle Giant” by all that knew him.
The service included poetry readings and musical tributes. As per family wishes mourners did not restrict themselves to sombre colours.
Eighteen-year-old James died in a road traffic collision two weeks ago on the A13 in Pitsea.
