WHAT was supposed to be a friendly tournament between schools with students with behavioural problems ended with one player beating another, a court heard.
A 14-year-old player, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was participating in a tournament held at Treetops School in Buxton Road, Grays on the 14th October last year.
Pleading guilty, the player admitted that he saw a team-mate involved in an altercation and decided to intervene, beating and causing injury to the player.
Presiding Magistrate, Paul Brandis adjourned the case to Feb 25th to give the youth’s parents an opportunity to attend.
