Sports Relief Mile: March 19th

COME ON. We are doing it. When I say we: YourThurrock Editor Michael Casey is running six miles despite the barracking of Alcatraz Athlete Matt Harris (who is conveniently engaged in a Half-Marathon in Hastings). It was the comments re a danger to shipping that hurt the most.

Thurrock Council is again offering local people the chance to raise money for Sport Relief.

It is hosting a Sport Relief Mile at the Belhus Park Golf and Country Club on Sunday, 21 March.

Two years ago hundreds of local people raised hundreds of pounds from the event.

This year, one, three and six-mile runs will be held. The event will start at 9am until 1pm.

Anybody interested in taking part is advised to register early online at www.sportrelief.com/the-mile/thurrock-mile, as entries will be limited on the day itself.
