Sports Relief Mile at Belhus Park

OVER a hundred hardy souls got up on sunday morning to run either one, three or six miles for Sports Relief 2010. An array of brightly coloured outfits adorned the course as this small gathering joined forces with hundreds of runs all over the country.

With Sainsbury’ staff undertaking a sponsored in-store cycle marathon and Bannatyne’s offering a charity valet, there was certainly a solid contribution to the Sports Relief cause.

The winner of the six mile race was PE teacher from Gable Hall, Martin Leslie. He was closely followed by YourThurrock Editor Michael Casey. Well, when we say closely followed, we mean…..last. It’s not the winning, it’s the being taken apart.
