YOU can tell when you walk into any working environment whether the staff are happy or not. We can tell you that the staff that work in the kitchens at Hassenbrook school are a very happy team indeed. Even in the white heat of the run up to lunch time, when there are hungry mouths to feed, the hard working ladies, smartly turned out in their red check hats are a picture of patience under pressure. Perhaps that is why they have recently been inundated with rewards including a Healthy Eating Award from Thurrock Council and a 5 Star award from Scores On The Doors.
YourThurrock spoke to Myra Noakes about how she runs the kitchen, why they work together so well and whether the students have responded to the healthy eating initiative.
