St Clere’s Make Final of Essex Cup

This wednesday the St Clere’s mens saturday team play in the final of the Essex FA County Junior Trophy Competition. It’s the first time a St.Clere’s side has ever reached the final of an Essex-wide tournament. Over 100 clubs enter the competition so its a great acheivement to be in the final two teams and to represent Thurrock.

And yet the team are not looking to rest on their achievement but are aiming higher still. They have another League Cup Final to contest against Sparta Basildon and as if this wasn’t enough there is the small job of the league, in which they sit in second spot with six games in hand over the leaders

In the Essex Final they play Beacon Hill Rovers who hail from the same Mid-Essex league but three divisions lower than St.Clere’s. St.Clere’s Manager Colin Yeomans ,once a Burnley player, hopes that his side show their potential and enjoy the day whatever the result.

The team are looking for as much support as possible from the whole community as well as other St.Clere’s teams. So let’s get behind them and be part of a memorable night in St.Clere’s history.
