We wish we had launched yoursunderland instead as we would have been home by 11pm. Instead it is 6.30 am and a total total farce that has included lost ballot papers, mixed ballot papers and a host of other discrepancies.
With less than 90 constituencies to go it looks like the Outer Hebrides have more chance of getting a return than Thurrock.
National news organisations are bombarding the local press who can only pass on the confusion and mayhem that has symbolised the council over the last few years and has now risen to a crescendo of chaos on the most important political and civic night of the year.
What a farce more suited to the other Whitehall of Brian Rix (not a lot of people know that!)
I agree with Michael – it symbolises the manner in which the Council conduct themselves – poor officer leadership – poor political leadership. Somebody needs to take this lot by the scruff of the neck and sort out the mess we are in here.

The British voting constitution is a farce, whislt it looks lke we are heading for a hung parliament this is an unfair systen where the party who is in second place could be the ones to form the government, the sooner they bring in proportional representation the better.
Will there be legal challenges to a few constituencies where people were locked out of the votes?? very sorry state of affairs.
