After their first night sleeping under the stars, YourThurrock joined a group of students from Chafford Hundred Business and Enterprise College at Thriftwood Campsite to learn all about outdoor survival with the talented team from Redfox Survival and Bushcraft.

Without any hesitation, Redfox Survival and Bushcraft is a brilliant course which covers an array of survival and bushcraft techniques. The diverse range of exercises means that every participant is able to truly experience and understand what it is like to survive outdoors.

From making a fire, acquiring and purifying water, hunting and trapping, emergency navigation, self rescue techniques, to basic wildlife observation – everything is covered! As a result, the participants leave the course with a set of incredibly valuable skills which will prepare them for outdoor survival.

It is no surprise that many of us spend most of our days suffocated by the concrete jungle in Thurrock and never adventure into the beautiful countryside that surrounds us. However, Company Director for Redfox Survival and Bushcraft, Des Portelli, hopes that this course will ‘spark a wander lust’, especially within young people, to go out and explore outdoor living.

Whilst the Redfox Survival and Bushcraft course is an intense programme, it is also brilliantly entertaining and fun for everyone involved. It was clear that the students from Chafford Hundred were thoroughly enjoying their unique outdoor experience.

The Redfox Survival and Bushcraft team provide one day courses to overnight courses. Both will include a variety of outdoor survival exercises which will cover a host of survival and bushcraft techniques.
