Aveley Boss Rod Stringer has been apponted manager of Essex Club Braintree Town.
Stringer leaves his position as manager of Ryman Premier club Aveley to take up the role at Cressing Road. Rod will be supported in his new role by assistant manager, Eddie Crace and first team coach Keith Rowlands.
Chairman Lee Harding was pleased with the Club’s appointment: “We’ve had a wide-range of applicants from those that have managed in the league above, our own division, plus many that have been successful in both the Isthmian and Southern Leagues and I thank all that have taken the time to submit their applications.
“There are many qualities that make up a successful applicant, including: experience, coaching ability, tactical nous, ability to manage a budget, a smile on the face and a desire to want to be at our club and Rod has ticked all the boxes. Most of all I believe we have appointed an ambitious manager who has done well with his previous clubs and we believe he can continue that success with us.”
Rod, who joined the Millers in November 2007, sucessfully led his team to mid table security in his first season, prior to winning the Ryman Divsion One North title in 2008/09.
In the clubs inaugural 1st season at Step 3, Rod’s team achieved a outstanding 3rd position in the Ryman Premier Division.
Rod & his management team leave Mill Field with the best wishes of all at Aveley FC.
