FIREFIGHTERS were called to a ruptured gas main in a house. The gas main is believed to have been damaged by workmen carrying out work at the house. The national grid is in attendance to isolate the gas.
Firefighters evacuated the surrounding properties as a precaution.
Update 7.13. Fire crews have evacuated 12 properties in the area affected by the gas leak. The incident is now in the care of the gas board.
