Portfolio Holder for Public Protection, Gerard Rice has ensured that should England win, the flags will be allowed to remain out on taxis until after the Final.
Any chance of that? Who knows. YourThurrock believes that only three countries believe and have the talent to win: Brazil, Italy and Argentina. Germany still have the belief, Spain have the talent. England have the manager. Look at the nationw who have won and it is just like the Premier League: only three have all the ingredients.
The bottom line is that the pubs should be doing a roaring trade and with 50 pubs a week closing, that has to be a good thing.
Meanwhile, Gerard Rice told us how he had negotiated for the flags to stay up.
How is flying the flag of St George, showing support for the English football team? I think that these flags flying from road vehicles, are unsightly at best and downright dangerous at worst. Flying these flags from houses and shops, just looks common and undignified.
The best way of actively supporting the team is to get out there and shout encouragement as they play, not by waving these flags indiscriminately, which actually achieves nothing, apart from putting money into the shops that sell them – just like Christmas, it is well over hyped and over commercialised.
Droove come on mate, whats undignified, or common about being patriotic, I was there in 66 and have always shown my support for my country ever since, its nice to see the patriotism in these times of being PC.
Mate if you have a problem get yourself a market stall and sell the flags, cos you won’t beat us, so join us.

We sould not require a councils permission to fly our national flag at any time of the year, this is bloody pathetic, all English people should make a stand and fly the George Cross high from their houses, lest start to be proud of this country and not put up with the Politcal Correct brigade, we need to make this nation proud again and if people don’t like that then they know where the door is.

All these things that have been taking place for 100’s of years and no government has remedied a way of stopping them, so a little light relief to hopefully celebrate something good about our country, but you still point the finger, how things have changed since the doors were opened to all and sundry.
