Chief Supt Glenn Caton has been an officer since 1981. He joined in the atmosphere of the Brixton and Toxteth Riots. The job that he joined has seen some vast changes.

With eleven months until his retirement, we interviewed Ch.Supt Caton and asked him to reflect on the changes in the police.

There is a tendency to put rose tinted specs on policing from “long ago” but back in the early 80’s the cops were dissatisfied, contemplating striking and putting “TJF” on memo’s (figure it out).

Glenn is the type of cop, you could chat to all day. What comes across is that he has always been an officer, who wanted to serve his people. He spent nearly eight years as a Sergeant and that comes across in his philosophy.
