High House Topped Out

“IMPLEMENTATION is the key to the work of the Regeneration Project in Thurrock” were the sage words by Chairman of the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation, Will Mckee CBE as he stood aloft the highest point in the £60 million Royal Opera House production park at a topping out ceremony.

Mr McKee was joined by contractors Carters as well as members of community groups from the Purfleet area who were all delighted to see the dream of the park take a step closer to becoming a reality.

It is hoped that the first centre for technical skills, crafts and productions will open by the end of the year.

We spoke to Mr McKee as well as Project Manager Gary Fairclough about why the topping out ceremony is so significant as well as the day to day demands of a project such as this.
