AS WE said, it was a glorious weekend for fetes and festivals in the borough culminating in an excellent Stanford Festival yesterday but one of the highlights on saturday was St Joseph’s School Fete in Stanford-le-Hope.
One of the keys to the success of the fete was the number of key partners involved in the festival. Almost too numerous to mention but whether it was large scale organisations such as Petroplus or local dance troupe, DC Dance Studios, the fete seems to crystalise all that is good about a school community.
Having said that, you can’t beat the sight of the police helicopter coming to land on the playing fields!
From driving lessons in the car park, medieval jousting, army assault courses to a seat in the fire engine, this was a truly splendid afternoon and once again it seemed that a few quiet prayers at school on friday brought the sun out.
