Advice and information will be on hand for the people of Tilbury from local experts including Thurrock Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue and Thurrock Council on Friday August 20th, in Calcutta Road from 10am to 1pm.

Thurrock Community Safety Partnership has organised the event (outside Tesco) to offer residents, and those working in the area, the chance to get face-to-face help and advice from a variety of organisations.

Thurrock Council’s Community Protection Team, responsible for dealing with incidents of Anti-social Behaviour, will be joined by Trading Standards experts and representatives from Oasis drugs and alcohol advice centre. There will also be members of the voluntary community and Police Community Support Officers

Thurrock Council Portfolio Holder for Crime and Disorder, Councillor Gerard Rice said: “I would urge anyone who lives or works in Tilbury to take this opportunity on offer to them to pick up advice and information from the huge range of experts who will be in their area. By seeking the views and concerns of local people in their local areas we can get a better understanding of the work we need to do to help and further improve things for our residents and their communities.”

The Tilbury Community Engagement Day is part of a series organised by the Community Safety Partnership which will take place in different parts of the borough across the summer.
