Royal Opera House Need Singers For Community Production

THE Royal Opera House is calling all singers in Thurrock to take part in Ludd and Isis, its community production that will open its new production workshop in Purfleet in December

Over 1000 school children and local residents of Thurrock have been involved in workshops since January to create Ludd and Isis, the High House People’s Opera. The libretto is now written and the singing can begin. Whether you sing in a choir or warble in the bath, the Royal Opera House needs you to be a part of this spectacular production and sing for Thurrock.

Working with a creative team from the Royal Opera House including professional opera singers, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet world class artists and be involved in a unique event. An intensive week of rehearsals commences on Monday 23 August at the Woodview Campus of the South Essex College (formerly Thurrock and Basildon College). Rehearsals will then continue on Saturday afternoons. Rehearsals are open to everybody. There are no restrictions and no criteria for taking part. The only thing you need is a passion to sing.

Ludd and Isis, The High House People’s Opera will open the Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop. The first performance will be on 6 December and performances will continue until 11 December.

If singing is your thing – and we don’t just mean opera – step forward and take part. Contact Alton Brown, on 01375 413391 or email getinvolved@roh.org.uk.
