Ishmael Returns To Grays

GRAYS ATH produced a major transfer coup at the weekend by signing former West Ham and Ebbsfleet star, Ishmael Welsh.

Ishmael had already played for Grays in the 2008-09 season, producing a number of outstanding performances in the latter half of the season to keep Grays in the division.

Last season, he played for Ebbsfleet United.

Assistant Manager Kenny Brown said: “We are looking forward to having a player of Ishmaels ability at Grays and it will be a delight to have him here’

Ishmael said ‘I am looking forward to working with Julian and Kenny and looking forward to the future’

Although Grays lost their first game of the season, fans believe that the inclusion of Alex Osborn and Ishmael Welsh will be too much for many defences in the Ryman Div One North.

Ishmael scored Grays goal of the season in this sensational individual effort against Forest Green in March 2009.

  1. Ishmael is a good signing for the Club.

Unfortunately we heard that Alex Osborn fractured his hand in the friendly against Dagenham last week, so he’ll be out for a few weeks.

I guess injuries happen to all teams, but it’s real shame our best striker will be missing for a while.
