GABLE HALL has been the benchmark school in the borough for many many years but the school set it’s own high standards as well and so staff and students were delighted that the school broke through the 70% barrier for 5 A*-C GCSE’s (inc Eng and Maths) for the first time.
The students were queuing up at just before 10am at the Southend Road school to get the results. Once in the hall, they opened their envelopes and sure enough, there were shrieks of delight as they all realised that all those months and years of hard work had come to fruition.
Two of the successful students were former Head Boy Paul McSweeney and Head Girl Taylor Oram. We also spoke to Asst Principal Clive Stokes about what the results meant to the school.
