Robbery in Corringham

Police are appealing for information about a robbery in Corringham Park, Gordon Road, Corringham at shortly before 7 pm on Monday, 23 August. A 30-year-old local Corringham man was followed on foot by three white men in the area of Bellmaine Avenue, Corringham into Corringham Park off Gordon Road.

One of the men was armed with a hammer and the other two with knives. One of the men armed with a fishing knife held it to the throat of the victim and stole keys and a three figure sum of cash before all three men made off in a silver Toyota Celicia.

The man with a hammer smashed the windscreen of a car parked nearby as he chased the victim. The suspects are described as all white, aged 20 to 25. The man with the hammer is described as medium build, 6′ tall, wearing an off-white T-shirt, blue jeans and a grey hat. The man with the fishing knife is skinny, 5′ 7″, round rimmed glasses and wearing a baseball cap. There is no specific description of the third man.
