It’s probably just as well for local cricketers that they have moved under cover given the recent wet conditions as the first week of indoor six a side cricket – at under 12 youth level – took place at Grays School on Friday.
Eathan Morris scored a fine 31 as Belhus “A” scored 88 for the loss of four wickets, with Braydon Scarlett giving fine support with 22 not out. But then James Bright for Belhus “B” hit a six to win the game as he finished on 22 not out and team-mate Harry Pacey hit an unbeaten 25.
Bright’s B” team winning margin was two wickets. Meanwhile, Orsett dismissed Horndon on the Hill for 36 runs, after which Orsett reached their target without loss, thanks to Will Gibbon and Luke Beasley who finished with 12 not out and 10 not out respectively. Earlier, Connor Boreham and Beasley both took two wickets for just five runs.
