Eco protest group chained to lorries on Manorway

THERE are reports of several eco-protestors who have chained themselves to petrol tankers on the Manorway in Corringham.

Police appear to be prepared for a major protest with dozens of police vans parked in Stanford-le-Hope, roads blocked off and helicopters flying overhead.

Police are at Fenchurch Street preventing protestors getting to Stanford-le-Hope station.

It is understood that the protest group, Crude Awakening are mobilising to prevent oil coming into London.
