Charlton Duo for Thurrock

Young Charlton duo Ben Davisson and Tamer Tuna have joined non-League Thurrock on loan until Saturday, December 4th.

The pair will head to the Essex outfit in time for selection in their Blue Square Bet South clash at home to table-topping Braintree Town on Saturday (3pm).

Thurrock are currently struggling at the wrong end of the table in 20th place, and are yet to win a league game this season, having drawn six and lost six of their first 12 matches. They stay off bottom spot on goal difference.

Davisson and Tuna both penned professional terms with Charlton in the summer, having graduated from the club’s academy.
Midfielder Davisson has already spent time on loan at Bromley this term, making two first-team appearances during his short stay with the Ravens.

The Hildenborough resident joined the Addicks as an 11-year-old after being spotted by Charlton community coaches.

Tuna, meanwhile, featured for no fewer than six different teams last season, a campaign in which he broke his scoring duck for Charlton’s first team and also notched a Valley hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup.

Discovered by community coaches at a Charlton Challenge course at Crook Log Centre, in Bexleyheath, Tuna has been on the club’s books since the age of nine.

The striker was on target on his full Addicks debut, against Barnet in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in October, and the Turkey U19 forward gained valuable work experience away from The Valley with Staines Town, Woking and Welling United.

Tuna has been an unused substitute in first-team fixtures on three occasions this term.
