I suppose we could blame the Amercans because hot on the heels of Halloween ,which we in this country never really took any notice of, comes a new phenomena in the shape of the Prom.
It started with University students ,then Senior school leavers and now its junior school kids.
So mom and dad can look forward to splashing out on the stretch limo, the venue ,the food and of course that dress.
Its all good news for he industry though and the Park Inn held the first of its Prom nights where businesses could display their wares and help plan the event.
