Hassenbrook Year 11 prizegiving

HASSENBROOK HONOURS GCSE SUCCESS

A packed hall of staff, ex students and their guests gathered at Hassenbrook School in Stanford le Hope this week to celebrate the achievements of the year 11 leavers. Special guest on the evening, Xavier Woodward from DP World London Gateway joined the head, Mr Richard Glasby on stage to present a variety of awards recognising the schools most successful crop of GCSE results ever.

All attending students collected their GCSE certificates on stage and awards were made for individual subject achievement, overall academic achievement, sport and for social contributions to the year group. Worthy of particular note were students Tom Kitchen and Ashleigh Carver who excelled in all subjects studied accruing 15 A* and A grades each and a set of 21 Science superstars who between them achieved a remarkable 26A*’s 58A’s and 21B grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Mr Richard Glasby, Headteacher at Hassenbrook School said ‘It was an excellent evening where we were able to recognise the hard work and commitment of a fantastic year group. Our thanks to DP World and to Petroplus for their continued support.’
