The Essex Savers net Credit Union for Thurrock is being launched at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, between 10am and noon on Monday (13 December).
The event is open to the public who will be able to find out how to start saving with the credit union.
Credit Unions are profit-sharing, non-political, financial co-operatives. They are owned and controlled by members, and exist to help members save and borrow in a fair ethical way.
They work by members’ savings accumulating to form a pot of money from which loans are offered to other members at low rates of interest.
Cllr Lynn Worrall, Jackie Doyle-Price MP and Alison Davies, Managing Director of Essex Savers will be present at the launch.
