LAST month, we published the list of detected and undetected crimes in Thurrock. On the face of it, it made for grim reading. Solved crimes for drug offences had dropped by over 30% in three years. detection for sexual based offences stood at 13%.
The trouble is, we have entered the world of the statistic and recording mechanisms.
There is a mountain of evidence to suggest that Thurrock is a much safer place than twenty years ago but what do these statistics tell us?
YourThurrock sat down with Chief Inspector Paul Moor to ask a series of questions about detection rates in Thurrock. We also looked at the relationship with the public, resources, the impact of the cuts, the proliferation of drug dealing in the borough, road policing, single manned crews and a host of other crime related issues.
