Thurrock MP reflects on first eight months

YOU can keep tabs on your local MP through a website called www.theyworkforyou.co.uk It drops you an e-mail every time they speak in the House of Commons. YourThurrock did notice that towards the end of his tenure, Thurrock MP, Andrew Mackinlay did spend a lot of time asking questions about far outposts such as Tierra del Fuego, Pitcairn Islands and the Isle of Man. This had to do with his position on Foreign Affairs Select Committees but it overshadowed questions on Thurrock.

By contrast, many have been impressed with new Conservative MP, Jackie Doyle Price’s performance on the floor of the House where she has asked a number of searching questions which have the Thurrock constituent at the heart of the matter. Jackie has also been determined to put residents first, especially when it comes to the matter of the Dartford crossing and Junction 30 of the M25.

YourThurrock caught up with Jackie as she was out meeting residents in Thurrock to reflect on a few of the matters that she has addressed.
