CHILDREN and young people will be kept busy this month, with a range of activities taking place in the half term across Thurrock.
If it’s football you’re looking for, Chelsea FC Foundation is running a soccer school at William Edwards for ages from three to15. Another soccer school will be taking place at Quarry Hill Primary School, run by Star Sports and Soccer.
For the older age range (16 to 19) there will be a World Cup football tournament taking place at the Gateway Academy on Thursday, 24 February.
Impulse Leisure has set up a host of activities based in the three Leisure Centres at Blackshots, Belhus and Corringham. Sessions include junior gym, street dance, swimming and urban rebound.
The school clusters in Thurrock are each arranging a programme of fun activities for children.
In the Excellence Cluster (Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary) there will be multi- sports and arts and crafts taking place at local primary schools.
Swimming, cooking and drama are some of the sessions taking place in the North East Cluster (Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham).
In the Central Cluster (Grays, Chafford and Stifford Clays) there are currently spaces available for street dance, indoor cricket, sports day and Olympic games day.
Thurrock Youth and Connexions will also be arranging a half term programme for young people ages 13 to19, including day trips and arts and media sessions.
