Crews were called to tackle a fire involving a row of derelict garages and a row of recycling bins after arsonists set them alight.
The fire took place in Calcutta Road, Tilbury.
ECFRS Control operators originally got a call to rubbish alight and sent one appliance to the scene. When firefighters arrived, they reported two garages well alight and the recycling bins were also involved. A third crew was ordered to the scene for additional manpower.
Firefighters used three hose reels to tackle the blaze, which was dealt with by 01:23 hrs.
