THE DOCKERS came back from a shock own goal in the second minute to claim a well earned victory against Great Wakering Rovers at Chadfields on Saturday.
Boss Paul Vaughan said: “The opening goal was a bit of a shocker but we are made of stern stuff now and did well to come back.”
The Dockers stuck to their task and equalised in the 25th minute when an unmarked Billy Crowther headed home from a superb Ben Bradbury free kick.
Tilbury went into the lead when Hulusi Mustafa stroked the ball home from a Jack West cross.
The second half was a competive affiar but Tilbury remained in control and secured the three points on the stroke of full time when Harry Cook scored the third.
Paul Vaughan said: “Mid-table respectability is still what we are looking for. We have had a good 2011 indeed we are fifth in the form league right now.
“We may lose the Leyton points next week so we have a massive game against Redbridge on Tuesday. Next Saturday comes East Thurrock which we are all looking forward to.”
