T-FEST 11 is going ahead and is going to be bigger and better than ever.
Last year’s event attracted over 12,000 people and Thurrock Council has been working hard through the autumn and winter to find outside financial support for the weekend.
T-Fest 11 will be taking place on the now traditional last weekend in July – 23 and 24 July this year.
It will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of Thurrock and also aims to continue the anniversary celebration theme with Lakeside (21 this year) and the Port of Tilbury (125 years old).
The council is on the lookout for local bands and community groups to get involved as well and take advantage of the event to showcase their talents, skills and services.
With a fun fair on Kilverts Field, loads of fun zones for families and kids. T- Fest 11 will have something for everyone.
Cllr Lynn Worrall, Thurrock’s portfolio holder for Community, Culture and Leisure, said: “T-Fest has grown into a tremendous and joyful celebration for the people of Thurrock, young and old.
“It gives local talent the chance to shine on the same stage as national and international celebrities and it’s marvellous that the council’s diversity team has been able to find the external funding to ensure 2011 will be bigger, better and more fun than ever before.”
