BELHUS Cricket Club is busy preparing for the visit of the Lashings World XI, the world’s greatest cricket club side that comprises former test players from various countries.
The 35-overs match will take place at North Stifford Village Green on Friday 10th June at 2.15 pm, and although the make-up of the Lashings team is yet to be announced, their squad includes international players such as Jason Gillespie, Richie Richardson, Gordon Greenidge, Devon Malcolm, Saqlain Mushtaq, Graeme Hick, Ian Harvey, Ed Giddins, Greg Blewett, John Emburey, Henry Olonga, Stuart Law, Azhar Mahmood, Chris Harris.
Belhus is delighted to have secured a fixture against the celebrity Lashings team, and are looking forward to being hosts for the day in order to raise funds for the Belhus CC Youth Section and St Luke’s Hospice.
This is a great coup for the borough and everyone will be welcome to attend and watch international cricketers in action in the setting of a village green!
