THE MILLERMEN continued to show the type of form that should see them escape from being relegated as they beat mid-table Hendon with a fine battling performance.
Aveley were two-up within the first half hour. Tony Russell opened the scoring as he scored from close range after getting on the end of Kenny Beaney’s free kick.
The Millermen then went two ahead when Danny Slatter fired in a cracker from thirty yards.
Hendon’s goal came in the 33rd minute when a Scott Cousins corner was flicked home by the head of Brian Haule.
The second half saw Hendon have the majority of possession, but the Aveley defence held firm to ensure the Millermen grabbed a vital three points.
