Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Foyle Drive, South Ockendon.
At 2am on Sunday, March 20, the 39-year-old man was walking home down Gatehope Drive, and then down Foyle Drive when he had a glass bottle smashed over his head, before being kicked in the head and body whilst he lay on the floor. The victim attended hospital after suffering cuts and bruises to his head and body.
Investigating officer, Pc Richard Smears, said: “The victim remembers seeing a group of youths hanging around on the crescent part of Foyle Drive where it meets Gatehope Drive, and I am keen to speak to this group or anyone that may have seen them in the area, as they could hold information vital to our investigation. This was a very nasty attack on a man who was just walking home after a night out, so if you can help in any way, I urge you to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pc Smears at the Thurrock CID target team on 0300 333 4444 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
