Van stolen at knifepoint in Grays

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 45-year-old man was robbed in Wallace Road, Grays.

At 10.15am on Wednesday, March 16, suspects approached the victim, punched him in the stomach and demanded the key to his blue Ford Transit van. They then showed him a knife before taking the key and stealing the van, worth and estimated £1,370.

Investigating officer, Dc Becky Jenkins, said: “This happened early in the day, and there is potentially quite a few people that may have seen this or may have seen the suspects in the area at the time. Thankfully the victim was seriously injured, but it would have been very frightening for him to go through. If you know or saw anything, get in touch with us.”

All three suspects were white men. The first suspect was aged between 21-40 years old, tall, of a slim build, wearing a black jacket, jeans, trainers and a winter cap. The second suspect was of a heavy build, wearing a black jacket, jeans and a cap. The third suspect was wearing a black tracksuit and an orange high visibility jacket.
