St Clere’s and Gable Hall sing as one in memory of Karis

THE FAMILY and friends of Karis Darling are determined that the memory of the Gable Hall student will endure.

For this reason, they have set up the Karis May Darling Foundation with the aim of setting up a community centre to help young people who cannot afford professional training in performing arts and sports.

Karis, 12, an aspiring actress and singer, died after contracting streptococcus A.

Over 400 people attended Karis’ funeral at St Mary’s Church in Corringham.

One of the first acts is a CD single made by the award winning St Clere’s singers joined by Karis’ sister Kristi, a Year 10 student at Gable Hall.

YT spoke to Karis’ father, John Darling about the foundation before the choir gave a rendition of the Queen song: “No-One But You”
